I haven’t been here in a while. My phone is off except for wireless capabilities so for anyone who cares…
I have been going through a lot. Some good. A lot bad. But I’m also very hopeful for the future. I have been working on new creative concepts while trying (and mostly failing) at keeping my life afloat. My finances are in a complete state of devastation. It’s a miracle I make rent every month. That’s also why I haven’t texting my peeps like Bre, Leandra and Kasasha, Neisha and Ayana. Peeps I met on here. I miss them. I miss being able to go out and buy the things I need. I hate robbing Peter to pay Paul.
BUT. In this season of lack I have come to some great things. A leadership course with my church that is challenging me and making me a better leader in my church community, coworker, friend and woman. I have awesome roommates and friends that love me and support me even in my lack. I have been instilled through this time of trial with more hope, determination and joy than I have had in a while.
I will get back on my feet money wise. But I think I am being stripped of all my trappings and luxuries because I use them as crutches. I am prideful and always think I can control things and make what I want happen. And that’s not the case at all. I am learning everyday to choose joy. To choose that God’s way for my life be it hard or not is the best way to go. I don’t want my life to just depend on whether or not I can afford things. I want my life to matter for eternity. I want to leave this place better than I found it. And that takes drive, finesse, grace under fire and work ethic. It also takes prayer, patience and humbleness. I’ll make it and I will be alright.
But for now. SHOUT OUT TO ALL THE TUMBLR PEEPS! I sneak on here every once and a while and check on y’all. Kasasha, Bre, Leandra, Brittles, Lisa if you have Facebook look me up so I can chat with you there!
Y’all stay up!
Remember there is always hope!

Most of my best dishes come from repurposing leftovers. Life’s too short to eat the same meal twice. This little “egg mash” as I like to call it has been a repeat all week though. Roasted Chicken from Sunday dinner shredded and sautéed with caramelized Onions. Covered in Feta cheese. Diced Spinach and Tomatoes on top… And the coup de grace? A Sriracha smothered over-medium egg just to knock it out the box. It will definitely be #ontheblog (at Holla on Holly Street! )
